Fall 2016 Studio Update
I hope that this message finds you well. As the fall semester gets underway, I am busy preparing work for shows across the country while working with a group of wonderfully eager photography students at Bradley University. Below are a few events that I hope you will have the opportunity to check out!
The image above is from the exhibition I Witness: Social Movement Politics and Activist Art, which I co-curated with Krista Wortendyke. The exhibition includes artists from across the country who are addressing issues of social and political justice. It runs through this Friday, September 23rd at the Heuser Art Center and Hartmann Gallery at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Stop by and check it out if you are in the area.
Works from my series The Modern Day Diana are included in the exhibition The Environmental Portrait, juried by LA art critic Shana Nys Dambrot, at the Darkroom Gallery in Essex Junction, VT. The exhibition runs September 15th - October 9th.
New work from my series Just Below The Surface will be included in the exhibition Water 2016 at The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO. The exhibition, juried by Richard McCabe, will run from October 7th - October 29th.
Work from my series A Far Cry will be part of the Midwest Society for Photographic Education Multi-Caucus Exhibition at McNamee Gallery at Saint Louis University. The exhibition runs October 1st - November 31st.
I will be presenting a multi-day workshop titled Defining Your Vision in Orlando, FL, this coming March 12-14th. Workshop participants will spend three days living together in a beautiful vacation home in sunny central Florida. In a photo-camp atmosphere, participants will learn how to delve deeper into their image-making process and come away with new strategies for creative thinking. Space is limited to 8 photographers. More details, including registration information, will be available on my website in a few weeks.
Please let me know if I will be in your area for an exhibition or workshop. I'd love to grab coffee and hear what you have been up to!
Thank you for your continued support.
