Just Below The Surface

Just Below The Surface is a series of large photographic collages inspired by several summers spent sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. These images use abstraction and geometric forms to investigate the power of nature and the human desire to control the elements. The sea surface and wave formations within each composition are cut and pasted methodically and ordered in a way that distorts and alters perspective, presenting the viewer with multiple perspectives and shifting planes. The end result is a series of images that reflect the wondrous and fractious power of the sea.
